The Makers - Origin HQ, Porthleven, Cornwall

One of the main concepts behind this project was celebrating craftsmanship, as it’s a place where coffee is carefully and expertly crafted, I wanted the furniture created and selected to reflect that; using local makers where possible.

The ebonized oak milking stools and turned pendants - were made just 13 miles down the road by Local Furniture maker (Chris) Head and Haft.

PJ, a Penryn based Carpenter and Joinery, brought all of the bespoke pieces to life. The kitchens in the training and cupping rooms, the staff kitchen, the built-in seating and the bespoke retail unit and bar. Also managing many of the other local craftmenship including the metalworkers, upholstery and stone specialists.

Signage, bespoke coffee machine and planter metalwork were managed by APT studio in Falmouth. The depth of the letters was something a bit different, so there was different material testing involved!
